Sterling Police Department arrest man for theft, trespassing

STERLING POLICE DEPARTMENT

May 8

At 8:42 p.m. Joseph Michael Gallagher, 37, of Sterling, was arrested in the 1500 block of W. Main St. on charges of theft – $50 to $300 and third degree criminal trespass.

At 12:14 p.m. Charles Allen Lovell, 58, of Sterling, was arrested at Sterling Police Department on a warrant for failure to appear.

May 7

At 6:30 p.m. Amanda Marie Patrick, 26, of Sterling, was issued a municipal summons in the 300 block of N. Eighth Ave. for disturbing the peace and refusal to comply with a lawful order.

At 1:09 p.m. James Allen Gandee, 51, of Cheyenne, Wyo., was arrested on Pine St. on charges of driving while license is restrained due to alcohol/drug offense and contempt of court, as well as a SPD warrant for attempting to influence a public servant, identity theft and driving a vehicle while license is revoked as a habitual offender.

At 10:23 a.m. Matthias Patrick Maul, 37, of Longmont, was arrested in the 2100 block of Leisure Ln. on a failure to appear warrant.

May 6

At 5:30 p.m. Albert Daniel Zink, 45, of Sterling, was issued a municipal ticket in the 100 block of Broadway St. for theft.

May 5

At 6:20 p.m. Donavan Edward Hayes, 22, of Iliff, was issued a municipal summons at the Logan County Jail for theft.

May 4

At 11:54 a.m. 2006 Dodge Dakota, driven by Glen Ushiyama, 61, of Sterling, was traveling northbound in the 500 block of N. Sixth Ave. A 2013 Kia Sorento, driven by Janet Hegna, 56, of Sterling, was traveling eastbound in the 600 block of Clark St. The Dodge disregarded the stop sign at the intersection and the front of the vehicle collided with the rear of the Kia. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained slight damage. Ushiyama was cited for failure to yield at a stop intersection.

April 30

At 1:30 p.m. a 2002 Dodge Caravan, driven by Janette Michel, 56, of Atwood, and a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, driven by William Condon Jr., 63, of Stratton, Neb., were traveling southbound on N. Fourth St. The Dodge was in the #1 lane and the Mitsubishi was in the #2 lane. Traffic cones were set up to move all traffic to the #1 lane on N. Fourth St., north of the intersection with Main St. However, a gap in the cones allowed the Mitsubishi to merge into the #2 lane in preparation to turn west onto Main St. The front passenger fender of the Dodge impacted the driver’s side door and rear quarter panel of the Mitsubishi as both vehicles began turning west onto Main St. simultaneously. The impact caused minor damage to the front passenger fender of the Dodge and moderate damage to the driver’s side door and rear quarter panel of the Mitsubishi. The traffic cones appeared to be the primary contributing factor to the cause of this accident; for this reason neither party was cited for the accident. No injuries were reported.
