Home warranty providers top consumer group’s most complained-about list.
For the seventh straight year, home warranty companies topped the worst-graded categories list compiled by Angie’s List, an online provider of consumer reviews of local contractors and service companies.
Other repeat offenders on this year’s most complained-about list are Internet service providers, property management companies, mobile and landline phone service providers, and wedding service categories, such as bridal shops and wedding planners.
Banks and credit unions are new to the most complained-about list. Claims of unauthorized fees, unsatisfactory communication from banks on their policies, and poor customer service were the prevailing theme in the poorly graded reports. Rankings are based on Angie’s List analysis of member reports submitted during the first three quarters of 2011.

Asian Stocks Pare Gains on Moody’s EU Review; Hang Seng Falls

Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) — Asian stocks pared gains as Italy and France prepared to sell debt and Moody’s Investors Service reiterated it plans to review the credit ratings of European nations even after an agreement to tighten fiscal controls in the region and boost a bailout fund.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.1 percent, reversing an advance of as much as 1.8 percent. Esprit Holdings Ltd., the Hong Kong- based clothier that counts Europe as its biggest market, slipped 1.7 percent, reversing an advance of as much as 2.2 percent. James Hardie Industries SE, the building materials suppliers that counts the U.S. as its biggest market, gained 2.2 percent.
